Shipping policy
Effective date: October 3, 2026
1. Where we ship
We ship to addresses in the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, United States territories, military (APO, FPO and DPO) addresses or international destinations. For deliveries outside this area, contact us at sales@melmel.com for a custom quote.
2. Shipping costs
Shipping is calculated at checkout from the carrier's rate for the weight and destination of your order, and you can choose standard ground or a faster service where available. Shipping charges are non-refundable except where a shipment is our error.
Free shipping over $45. Orders with a merchandise subtotal of $45 or more, after discounts and before taxes, ship free by standard ground (UPS Ground Saver) to the area described in Section 1 when that standard ground rate is $20 or less. That covers most orders of jars, pouches and the 12 lb bucket, and the 22 lb bucket to Florida addresses. Faster services are charged at the carrier's rate. The offer is applied automatically at checkout; we may change or end it at any time, and the terms shown at checkout when you place your order apply.
Buckets and freight. The 12 lb and 22 lb foodservice buckets ship by ground. The 55 lb bucket does not ship by parcel: you can pick it up at our facility (see Section 10) or request a freight quote. Orders of 150 lb or more ship by freight (LTL), which costs less per pound than parcel; request a freight quote at sales@melmel.com. Wholesale and pallet freight is quoted separately and may be arranged on the customer's carrier account where preferred.
3. Processing time
Every order ships from our facility in Delray Beach, Florida, the same building where the dulce de leche is made. Orders are typically picked, packed and handed to the carrier within one to three business days of payment confirmation. Orders paid by bank transfer ship once the payment has cleared. Wholesale and custom production orders may require additional lead time, which is confirmed at the time of quoting. Orders placed on weekends or United States public holidays are processed on the next business day.
4. Transit time
Transit time depends on the destination. Transit times are estimates provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, weather, or events outside our control.
5. Packaging and storage
Mel·Mel dulce de leche is shelf-stable and does not need refrigeration in transit. We pack every order to protect it during shipping. Store in a cool, dry place and refrigerate after opening.
6. Order tracking
You will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number as soon as your order leaves our facility.
7. Title and risk of loss
Title and risk of loss pass to the customer when the products are handed to the carrier. Claims for damage or loss in transit are handled under our Refund and Returns Policy and must be reported to orders@melmel.com within 48 hours of delivery.
8. Delivery address
The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and for ensuring that someone is available to receive and properly store the shipment. Additional charges resulting from an incorrect address, a redelivery attempt, or a missed delivery are the responsibility of the customer.
9. Wholesale minimums
Minimum order quantities for wholesale purchases vary by delivery zone, product format and volume, and are confirmed at the time of quoting. Contact us at sales@melmel.com to discuss the minimum applicable to your location.
10. Local delivery and pickup
You may pick up your order at our facility at 2875 S Congress Ave, Unit F&G, Delray Beach, FL 33445, by prior appointment, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm ET. Customers in South Florida may also be eligible for local delivery. Contact us at orders@melmel.com or +1 (561) 728-1815 to arrange.
